# (READ ME) Goodbye Swiftype Forums, Hello Elastic Forums

On November 9th, 2017, Swiftype [joined forces](https://www.elastic.co/blog/swiftype-joins-forces-with-elastic) with Elastic.

Soon after, we released [Elastic App Search](https://www.elastic.co/blog/elastic-app-search-is-now-generally-available).

Today - to keep a better eye and ear on the community - **we are folding the Swiftype forum into the popular and active Elastic discuss forums**. The Swiftype forum will be put into read only mode and we will no longer be accepting new posts. It will be fully closed by May 8th, 2019.
