Limit the scope of a search to just a particular directory on your site?

Is there a way to have a search limited to a scope of just searching a particular directory?

For example, we want to have a search field on the front page where users have the radio button options to search the entire site or just search the News section. If we have a News section on our site: site.com/news

Does this actually require purchasing multiple engines? One for [oursitedotcom]/ and another engine for [oursitedotcom]/news ?

You could store each directory in the path of the page into an enum field in Swiftype, and then filter based on that field.
