It looks like in some cases Swiftbot will crawl Open Graph metadata when it’s present. Is there a mapping between Open Graph meta tags and the Swiftype meta tags? For example, will Open Graph meta tags be available as options in things like faceted search?
At this time, the crawler is limited to detecting and utilizing og:image tag metadata for thumbnail selection if no Swiftype specific meta tags exist.
Currently, there are no plans to leverage other standardized Open Graph tags, but it is something we’re open to considering for a future enhancement to the Crawler.
For custom field creation on crawler based engines, Swiftype specific meta tags and data will still be your best bet.
