From what I can tell, it doesn’t look like Swiftype supports wildcard * searching of the text fields. Are there any plans to support it in the future?
It’s possible to use the suggest API endpoint to do prefix queries on string fields. For example the query “cat” would match against a string field type that includes the term “category”.
However, we do not have immediate plans to add a more general wildcard search functionality.
